The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, has restarted the Janata Darbar program, which aims to listen to people's grievances and address their complaints.
The program, which started on Sunday, was initially launched by the Chief Minister after she assumed office, but it had to be suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Janata Darbar will be held at the Milan Sangh Club, located next to the Chief Minister's residence in Kalighat, and will take place every Sunday. The Chief Minister has entrusted the responsibility of handling the complaints to Subrata Bakshi, a prominent leader of the ruling Trinamool Congress party.
The program is part of the government's efforts to improve public relations with the people of West Bengal. Previously, the government had launched the 'Didi Ke Bolo' campaign, which allowed people to directly report their complaints and problems to the administration. The government had also launched the 'Didir Doot' service, in which people's representatives visited the homes of common people to address their concerns.
The Janata Darbar program aims to provide an opportunity for people to directly express their grievances to the Chief Minister and her team. The Milan Sangh Club, where the program is being held, is located on the road leading to the Chief Minister's residence in Kalighat. The program will run from 10 am to 1 pm every Sunday, and Subrata Bakshi will supervise the proceedings.
